Welcome to KidLit Cares, an online talent auction to benefit the Red Cross relief effort to help communities recover from Superstorm Sandy. KidLit Cares was started by the very awesome Kate Messner, but I’m taking over Round 2. Agents, editors, authors, illustrators and other generous people have donated various services to be auctioned off to the highest bidder, with donations being made directly to the Red Cross disaster relief fund. You can read more about KidLit Cares here.
Now, on to the auction!
From Sara Crowe’s website: I am an agent at Harvey Klinger, Inc. where I represent children’s fiction and adult fiction and non fiction. My clients include NYT Bestselling author Jonathan Maberry, USA Today Bestselling author Jeff Hirsch, as well as Nina LaCour, Michael Northrop, Lisa Schroeder, Kristen Tracy, and Dan Wells. My authors have been nominated for Edgars and the Morris Award and have been on the ALA Best Fiction for Young Adults list and in the Top Ten. I am consistently ranked among the top three YA and MG agents in Publishers Marketplace.
The winner of this auction will receive a YA or MG full manuscript critique with a follow up phone call.
Opening Bid: $30
This auction closes at 10pm Eastern Standard Time on November 26. Any bids placed after that time will be void.
If you’d like to bid on this auction, check the current high bid and place a higher bid by leaving your name and bid amount in the comments, along with some way to contact you (email, FB or Twitter…I’m not fussy.) Winners will be notified when the auction ends and should be prepared to make an online donation to the Red Cross Disaster Relief fund in the amount of the high bid at that time. After you’ve made your donation, you’ll forward your receipt to me, and I’ll put you in touch with the person who donated the service you won so that the two of you can work out the details about how and when. All services will be provided at the convenience of both the person making the donation and the auction winner, but this should happen within three months of the auction’s end unless something else is agreed upon by both parties.
Good luck and thanks for your help!
Tip: if you’re bidding, you may want to subscribe to the follow-up comments, so you can get notice of future bids. Subscribe via RSS on the right. —>
This is worth so much more than I can afford. But I’ll start things rolling with $30.

Hey, Joanne, the RSS feed button on the right is not working. Thought you might like to know. 🙂
It works for me – maybe try to reload the page.
This is fabulous. I wish I had more money, but I’ll bid $100.

This auction is now closed. The winner is the highest bidder whose comment and high bid are posted directly above this “end of auction” notice (any bids that are posted after this notice are void). If you’re the winner, please make sure your contact information is correct, so I can get a hold of you to let you know you’ve won. Once I confirm to you in an e-mail that you are the high bidder, please make your donation in the amount of your bid to the Red Cross at the link below. Please don’t make your donation until after I confirm to you that you’ve won, just in case.

Once you have made your donation, please e-mail a copy of your receipt and the name/number of your auction to me at [email protected]. Once I’ve received that, I will get in touch with the donor so you can connect and work out the finer details of your auction.
If you were not the winner, please consider still making a donation to the Red Cross—every little bit helps!
Thank you for your donations, efforts and for spreading the word about this important cause.
Joanne
Hey thank you so much for all you are doing with this auction. I do believe however that the bid directly above the line is not the highest.
Thanks
Pete
Pete – confirming your bid is the high and winning bid – I’ll send you a confirmation e-mail shortly. Thanks!
Thank you so much Joanne
